And why don't the US make oil from coal? Wouldn't this bring the cost down a little? Is it true that's only $2.57 in Mexico?

  1. Not really, the U.S. has it easy. Check prices in the UK its more than double ours. Their government taxes every gallon of gas like 4 usd or something which makes the price insane, although it should be close to the same. Yes the prices of gas are going up here in America, but if you look at the price of oil per barrel compared to gold, (USD used to be attached to a gold standard to prevent inflation..way to go Nixon for stopping that..) the "increasing prices" are mainly caused by a decreasing value in our dollar.

  2. Yes, it's cheaper in other countries (and more expensive too).

Venezuela, you can fill a tank of a car for 25 cents (Ford Escort kind of car, depends on the size of the car).

When United States had the gallon at 1.50, some countries in South America had it at 4.x dollars, and Venezuela had it at 15 cents (or something like that, or a quarter - is the same thing in somehow to what I pay).

They sell oil to many countries, including United States (but lately there has been some problems with their president and to who they sell, is turning into many conflicts and the gas price is not noticeable as a good gas price, because of how the other resources are administrated, it's not one of those rich countries like the ones that produce oil where the price is also low).
