  1. i dont think that it is bad if you water it down

  2. Gatorade isn't really great for someone of any age.  It's first ingredient is high fructose corn syrup, certainly not something I plan on putting in my childs stomach anytime soon.

  3. If it's not natural, then it's bad.  Give the child real juice!

  4. It isn't even good for adults unless they are really active. Yes babies are active, but not like an athlete. Gatorade is used to rehydrate the body. Babies don't need that unless they are sick, and even then you should use Pedialyte. A little sip here and there wouldn't hurt but you have to remember there's a lot of sugar and sodium in those drinks.Hope this helps!

  5. It probably won't kill them, but it surely is not in any way good for them.  I agree with giving them real 100% fruit juice.

  6. alot of pepole use it to rehidrate a sick toddler. and the kid is over one LA vi bo... he can drink anything she wants him to

  7. It's a lot of sugar so I would only advise it if the baby was sick and needed extra electrolytes. Even juice is supposed to be kept to only 4 ounces a day. Gatorade is worse than juice.

  8. You should only give if the child has a fever or vomiting...

  9. My son got really sick right before he turned two and he got pretty dehydrated. The doctor told us to give him a little gatorade to help with that....

I would never give it to him just because though.

  10. if used within moderation and diluted with water, I dont see why not.

  11. Yes. it is full of sugar. If you need a supplement because the baby is having diarrhea or vomiting, use Pedialyte in moderation.

Babies only need milk and water. Even juice is unecessary. It's all empty calories.

Gatorade is bad for anyone. It's got as much sugar as Kool-Aid and regular Coke. You wouldn't give Coke to an 18-month old, would you?

  12. Taken from their website

    Kids and Gatorade

Is Gatorade safe for infants and toddlers?

While Gatorade should never be used as a substitute for milk, infants and toddlers can safely drink Gatorade once they are weaned off breast milk or formula and begin consuming food, fruit juices and other beverages. It is best to consult with your pediatrician prior to introducing new foods into your infant’s diet.

Why do some pediatricians recommend Gatorade?

Pediatricians frequently recommend Gatorade to keep children adequately hydrated. Sick kids can dehydrate quickly by losing fluid as a result of fever (sweating) and diarrhea. Pediatricians know that Gatorade helps put back fluids and electrolytes fast.

One thing to keep in mind is that Gatorade is a sports drink and is not specifically formulated as an oral rehydration solution for persistent, severe diarrhea. Please consult with your pediatrician if persistent, severe diarrhea develops.

  13. gatorade is basically salted water with some high fructose corn syrup and artificial colors.  it's bad for everyone.

  14. I honestly think Gatorade is bad for anybody who isn't an athlete. :3

Gatorade is a sports/energy drink, so it is LOADED with salts. On the commercials, it shows professional athletes drinking it when they sweat, so the sodium intake from Gatorade gives it back.

Like someone else said, watering it down, it should be okay for a baby. Otherwise, I wouldn't do it.

  15. You are not supposed to give "infants" electrolytes which is what pedialyte and Gator-Ade are infused with.  Anything in moderation is fine for 18 months.  I shouldn't be a problem, just don't abandon water, it's essential.
