  1. I have an MBA from a perennially Top Tier program and can say if you do the following you'll do well...

    1. Take the homework time commitment literally.  Spend 2 hours studying for every hour of class and whenever possible do it with/be part of a study group.  Most MBA programs do this, form one if they don't. The additional perspectives from teammates is invaluable.

    2.  Attend all tutoring sessions - just makes sense and provides - like study group - additional perspectives and more explanation when you need it.

    3.  Invest the time with TAs and Profs when offered.  Again, the more you interact (purposefully) the more perspective and insights gained, and the more successful you'll be on the exams and papers.

Do the above and you'll be fine

  2. college degrees are hard work, but they're not difficult per se as long as you have teh drive and determination to do it.   Business, in particular, is much much easier than the sciences like chemistry, physics, etc.  obviously.

i have an undergard degree in finance, and it was pretty easy.

i don't know how the market for investment bankers is in alaska though!
