Question:

Is getting straight A's in community college 'not a big deal' ?

I just started community college last year and I received straight A's for the first two semesters. I never got grades like this in High School so I felt very proud until one of my sister's friends told me that getting A's in community college is not a big deal. She said everyone who goes to community college (especially art majors like myself) get either A's or B's with very little effort and also that an A in community college averages out to a C in 4 year schools. At first I thought that's really stupid to say. But then I realized that maybe community colleges really aren't up to par with 4 year colleges? I mean what do I know...?

  1. be proud of yourself you earned that A  :) yeah for you  :)  :)

if you do go to a 4 yr college after cc then they will still be As.

  2. Don't listen to your sisters friend.  Getting A's at a community college is GREAT! because if you can cont. to get A's for one more year, you can transfer into a kick as* 4-year school and get a great art degree.  Getting an A in high school, college or a jr, college is great! It's an A and if you are getting an A in anything it mean you worked hard at it.  Don't let other people ruin it for you!

    Troublemaker :)

  3. Getting grades like that is great. Ur sisters friend is a a*****e

  4. College is college.  Not everyone in community college gets straight A's.  Be proud.  Your friend is incorrect.   It sounds like you're ready to go on, good luck!  (college psychology professor)

  5. That's what i call jealousy my brother, A's are good no matter what, even my name start with an A.

Ask your sister's friend if she goes to college and see what she respond cause probably she don't know what she is talking about.

Much love from the BX, NY keep it tight.

  6. Getting straight A's anywhere is a big deal.  If you don't feel challenged, try to progress to a 4 year university/college.  However, if you DO feel challenged and you're getting straight A's, then you're doing very well! Keep up the good work and don't listen to other people.

Grades don't really matter unless you want to transfer or go to an institution of higher learning.

As long as you learn something, that's what matters!

  7. That is not true, an A in a college course is an A in a college course, when you transfer to a 4 year school they aren't going to turn all your As into Cs. It all depends on the school and your teacher. If you got As you must've done all the work, and did it well. Feel proud of yourself, if you think you did good work, and worked hard, then you did, and you got what you deserved.
