  1. Definitely a good idea.

I personally have used ripped toilet paper mixed with aspen shavings as hamster bedding too for years and have had no problems whatsoever. All my hamsters love toilet paper. Make sure that the toilet paper you give them is untreated / unbleached and does not have any fragrance in them. Also if you are using toilet paper for the first time, closely observe the hamsters for a day or two to rule out any itching or allergy that the papers might be causing them.

Don't throw away the empty tubes after using the toilet roll. Give them to your hamsters and watch them have great fun playing with it. I often put a whole roll of toilet paper inside my hamsters' cage and all my hammies have great fun ripping them off and spreading them all over the nest and using the tube for their games.

  2. yes, its a perfect idea, i use toilet paper for my hamstesr and they all love it :) http://hamster-club.com

  3. of course! give her/him the tube part too!

  4. Yeah thats kool. My sister had a hamster and it loved toilet paper Unfortuaneltly.Due to some disese it exploded LOL

  5. I don't see anything wrong with it, I used to give it to my hamsters all the time. They enjoy ripping it up, and they also use it to make a bed.

  6. yeah, he should have a ball with it. h**l love making a nest with it.

  7. I dont think I ever did when I had one but he loved the toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls

  8. i used to give mine it all the time, and the cardboard middle they love that

  9. Yes, definitely.  Just try to use the most basic (like Scott's brand) so that it doesn't have any ink or strong scents.  My hamsters use them for bedding in their sleep areas.  After I have cleaned their cages and they have stuffed their cheeks with fresh food, I then drop a few sheets of toilet paper in their cages.  They immediately grab it and start stuffing it into their homes for warmth and comfort.

  10. i used to always give all my hamsters it. tthey were fine and lived long they like to rip it all up and burrow in it

  11. Sure, hamsters love it.  Most paper products are ok for them to chew on just make sure they don't have any ink on them.  The pet store also sells treats that come in a little cardboard box that your hamster has to chew through to get at the food.

  12. HE WILL LOVE EVEN MORE!

My hamsters always have toilet paper in their cage. They use it as playground, bedding, blanket and even squeeze it in their little house.

I always keep the tubes from toilet paper and by gluing them together I create a BIG tunnel. To make sure that my hamsters aren't afraid of it, I cut small holes in the tubes (the hamsters use them as a detour=D) to let the light get in.

CAREFUL: Make sure that the glue isn't harmful to your hamster.

If you do not know how much paper to put in their cage try to put just one square first. I gave to my hamsters 3 squares first and they put it all in their house and I wasn't able to see them anymore so I use only 1 square of toilet paper now.

Have fun with your hamster =D !

  13. Yes, as long as it has no color in it.  They used to make colors like blue and pink but I don't see that much any more.  They like to tear it up and use it for bedding.  I gave mine newspaper and it never hurt them.  They don't eat it, they shred it.

  14. Giving him the toilet paper roll after the toilet paper runs out is fine but I wouldn't give him toilet paper.  It could be damaging to his insides.

  15. yes. hamsters love anything they can stuff in their cheeks. and they hamsters like to make nests out of ripped up toilette paper.

they most likely wont eat it because it has no taste, and if they do its not toxic to them.
