The US has contributed to this a lot so I think they should do something about it. This is one of our biggest problems right now

Sadly there has been no bill passed by congress to reduce polution to global warming

I think you can't just sit there and hope someone else can do it while you continue to not do anything about this big problem

I'm gonna have to say no. It's not that we don't care about it, but the government hasn't given it much attention. We've been focused on other topics for the past few years. I think an average American does care about it, though. We just need to re-prioritize. Hopefully that will change under a new president. So, the good news is that we will soon start to focus our resources on fighting global warming, because when Americans become better educated on the topic, and not shielded from the truth, we will realize that it IS an important topic, like the rest of the Western world has.

Yes, but not nearly as big as it should be.  The government does everything it can to reassure people that everything is hunky dory.  All too many people buy the easy answer.

I don't know what you consider a "real opinion". Global warming is a hot issue among lay persons in the United States, just like teaching Creationism in school is a hot issue.

However, it is essentially a settled matter among credible scientists and the college educated minority in general that human activity is influencing the Earth's climate as a mountain of objective data indicates this.

So, in general circles there is hot debate, but in academic circles its just a matter of reality.

Its a big issue all over the world. The US is one of the leading contributors to global warming, but all the other places in the world are concerned too. The emissions that are being released into the atmosphere is what is causing global warming, and other countries realize this. They are trying to stop this from happening, and so are we.

Now a days,in recent times(say form last century) the human activities are catalysing Global warming to a significant extent

CFC are also the main cause of depletion of the ozone layer

Globalwarminng(that is average temprature of global environment is rising) is a periodical natural phenomenon caused by the greenhouse gases(these are CO2,CO,CFC(chloroflouro carbons)etc present in our environment)

and this effect of these gases on our environment is called as Greenhouse effect, that is these gases prevents the exit of the heat of the rays of sunlight back to the space causing more and more warming and increase in the average global temprature.(Such as A closed window car under sunlight)

Nature itself is the main cause of global warming as some 15,000 years back there was cold age that was also mainly because of  nature,since then it(Global environment) is becoming warmer.

still in our time the global warming is there also mainly caused by natural phenomena  such as volcanic eruptions and Forest fires, traped heat of sunlight in our environment.
