I was just wondering because there is evidence against it, so is it a theory?

  1. So almost nothing in science gets to become a fact. Why? Because science never stops trying to disprove what it has shown to be true (hence, theory of gravity)

also, just because some pieces of evidence seemingly contradict something, it doesn't mean the entire idea should be thrown out. again, if there is a glitch in gravity, the theory will be examined.

a theory doesn't mean that it is weak-all theories get to the place that they are because they have held up against hundreds of tests and observations. science tries not to make things "facts" because anything and everything always has the chance of being disproven.

  2. Its more like a theory becoming a fact

earth is heating up no doubt!

  3. First of all, you don't seem to know what a theory is. A theory is a not a haphazard guess at something. Its a collection of observations that explain a natural phenomenon. Gravity is a theory, plate tectonics is a theory, etc.

Global warming and global cooling (ice ages) are indisputable. I have no idea why people dispute global warming when they do not dispute global cooling.

Both of these are natural cycles that are affected by natural processes on Earth as well as changes in how the Earth moves around the sun (look up Milankovitch cycles).

You can go to http://www.scotese.com and click on Climate History and see how things have changed through time.

  4. The earth is heating up, but it's because it's almost SUMMER. It's finally in the 90s here. Dang, I thought it'd never warm up.

  5. the earth is heating up but i dont think that it's been proven that humans are the main reason it is

  6. The earth cools and warms cyclically and it has been going on long before man came here.
