  1. i think in my opinion...we have caused global warming..maybe eventually thousands of years from now it could happen..but because of this world and how we all treat it..i would have to say we have caused it..pollution is probably number one..but thats just my opinion

  2. well in part, yes. this is because of the emissions that our products, machines have given off in the past/present. most of the emissions are co2 that cause the green house effect.

the greenhouse effect is when the suns heat energy passes through the earth's atmosphere and bounces off the surface of the earth...when it tries to pass back through the atmosphere the greenhouse gases (co2 etc) do not allow all of it to pass, therefor causing the heat to be trapped. this in turn causes the earth to be warmer...i.e global warming

  3. The debate is still going on... One argument is that global warming is just part of a cycle and mankind has nothing to do with it... just like the ice age... another argument is that humans are to blame because of the co2 level that saturates the our skies and causes higher degrees leading to the dramatic melting... who knows!

  4. Somewhat.  It could also be the natural cycle of the world, but no way to know because we've not been recording this sorts of information for all that long.

  5. The thing is, 'global warming' is the earth's natural cycle. When you look at it, cows release tons of harmful gases every single day. That's just nature taking its course. But Earth can only take so much. My opinion is that mankind contributes heavily. Therefore, Earth can't take so much and that's why we have the effects of 'global warming'. Mankind hasn't caused it, but we are contributing much more than we're supposed to.

  6. I think so my self but you could argue it could have happened naturally but it is unlikely if you want to know more try these sites

    http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warm... (gota love wiki)

    http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/scien...

    hope this helps :)

  7. no, mankind isn't powerful enough to cause an entire planets' eco system to change.

those that say we are are just arrogant and scared.

  8. No, its not.  But that's not good journalism.  You need to make up some bull about all the fish drowning because of the rising sea levels if you want to sell it to the papers.

  9. there are two possible answers for this. yes, our ecosystem couldnt take all the c**p we were putting into it. or no, we are now in a cycle that our earth goes through to clean itself. it was thought that our planet went through a global warming stage billions of years ago. kinda like the ice age.

  10. No way!!!  He was just a wrestler the real culprit was his buddy Mr. Sock-O!!!!

  11. No the animals asked the earth to commit suicide because they were tired of living.

  12. global warming is caused by both humans and just natural earth, because if you look back, a the past times of the earth there were ice ages, but that didn't stop the earth from moving on. But also humans have a very big effect, littering, polluting, and not taking care of our planet, it's very dangerous, but who knows, maybe ice melt, it getting too hot in our life time, is something natural that is happeing, like an ice age, and it will soon heal and move on. No one really knows.

  13. Global warming is a phrase made up by mankind, but actually the earth is just doing what it would do anyway, everything has a cycle and the earth is included.

  14. there's no exact proof yet but, probably then again we had global warming happen like 50 years ago but, then it passed so i guess its unknown

  15. Despite what you hear from the news, the answer is no. We humans aren't nearly as powerful as we might like to believe.

  16. Global warming is a natural cycle.  Mankind has just made it increase... alot...

  17. of course, because if it wasnt for their oil companies, for all the bad stuff we man kind do the atmosphere wouldnt be contaminated....

  18. There data is political biased by the Left. They think that we will run out of oil and they want it for them..

  19. part of it is cause by humans but the main reason is because the sun is getting hotter and this will end after about 100yrs

  20. It's neither a yes or no. The debate among scientists (and yes, there is still a debate no matter what Al Gore say) is to what extent mankind is contributing to it, as opposed to natural fluctuations in the earth's temperature. Here's some websites for the skeptical side:

    http://www.climateaudit.org/

A scientific website with a skeptical view of manmade global warming

    http://www.crichton-official.com/

Michael Crichton’s official website--there are several speeches and essays he has written on the subject.

For the less skeptical viewpoint, try

    www.realclimate.org

That should give you some balance.

In addition to reading An Inconvenient Truth, I would recommend Cool it! The Skeptical Evironmentalist's Guide to Global Warming

  21. Watch "An inconvenient truth" decide for yourself

  22. partly alto comes just off the pacific ocean but i don't know why

but most of it is us

china opens a new power plant like every 10 seconds or something

do some research about it you can find out loads of intresting facts

  23. not really actually according to the facts earth temps are cooler

and the ice age happened way back when during global warming there was no people with our technology

DO we help no but i think global warming is a crock made by tree huggers

    (no offense)

apparently the earth goes through this cycle every 100 years

  24. I believe it is not. All of the planets in the solar system are undergoing similar climate change. The effect of manmade green house gases is minute compared to the amount green house gases released naturally... water vapor is more powerful as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, or methane. One of the other current theories involves an increase in sunspots.

  25. Of course!

    We are polluting the Earth.

  26. ya humans made this terrible thing possible ! mainly through industries which emits CFCs(chloro floro carbon)

  27. some people say yes some people are stubborn and say no, global warming is just a myth. I think it is caused by mankind.  We are letting all these carbon emmisions into the air with our cars, factories, and fires that we cant prevent! And they are all being trapped in the atmosphere, this is causing the weather to change, it is causing the polar ice caps to melt.  And it is all because of us and the few of us that care about our planet that are trying to help isnt enough.  Because there are people in the world who could care less about global warming, and because of them our planet has to suffer.  So yes global warming is caused by mankind.

  28. Its a matter of point of view. Ultimately the government makes it seem like its our fault that there is global warming but realistically an active volcano erupting one time puts more fumes in the air then human beings do in 1000 years. The difference is that a volcano will only damage one area so the trees and the wildlife surounded it would repair itself eventually. We are doing a lot of things to the earth that is unatural (tearing down trees, dumping garbage) which prevents it from really rebuilding itself. I think nature and humans BOTH have a big role in it.

  29. Any destruction of the environment is caused by mankind alone.

  30. No, because there is no such thing as global warming. Go look at the average temperature from the past 200 years, it fluctuates. It might be a little (3 or 4 degrees) hotter one year then in ten years it might be back down.
