  1. Climate change/global warming is not just about warming.  A great many things are being effected.   More snow in areas normally too cold to snow and where there has been added water vapor from evaporation and increased pressure systems, for example is a big one.  So I can imagine how ice storms would factor in there in a similar way.

That's why I have to agree with another term I've heard (which I got from a skiing magazine actually), and that is 'global weirding'.

This includes any moderate to extreme weather conditions which are not otherwise normal and can possibly be somehow tied to the recent climate change.

  2. ok the answer is yes because the adding of the cold water melting adding to the ocean will stop major heat translting currents sending north america, europe, and russia into another ice age and also australia and most of south america.

  3. A lot of people are saying No.

  4. NO it is not. It will not becuasw the water will melt and make more floods

  5. Let's see:  Global WARMing = ice storm.  It don't add up.

Global Cooling = Still ice and snow.  Inconsistent I'd say.  But if either happens then we call it, "climate change."  So even if it's wrong, it's still "right."  Pretty slick.

Rats!  I just exhaled some CO2, now I'll have fork over some carbon taxes!

  6. No one storm can be attributed to global warming. However, as the globe warms, severe weather is much more likely. If the local temperatures are cold enough, then that severe storm could cause a blizzard or an ice storm.

  7. God created the Earth, He is in control. If you want to know the future of the Earth, read the book of Revelation.

  8. Yes, actually. Global warming will cause everything to be more extreme and common.

  9. Yes.

  10. There is no global warming. It is a socialist agenda run by environmentalists. Communists succeeded in making people believe that their conduct had universal implications, relevant to humanity as a whole. 30 years ago they were telling us that we were going to be in another ice age in 30 years, now they are telling us that we are going to die of heat in 30 years...

Libya is a prime example of Green Socialism;  It is a third-world country with an impoverished people. Its main export is well-trained terrorists. Wow! Impressive!

Dr. Richard S. Lindzen, a professor of meteorology at MIT, had this to say  in his June 11, 2001 article in OpinionJournal.com (titled: "The Press Gets it Wrong: Our Report does not Support the Kyoto Treaty"). Dr. Lindzen served on the National Academy of Sciences panel on climate change and co-authored its report. Here are important excerpts from his article:

Our primary conclusion was that despite some knowledge and agreement, the science is by no means settled. We are quite confident (1) that global mean temperature is about 0.5 degrees Celsius higher than a century ago; (2) that atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide have risen over the past two centuries; and (3) that carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas whose increase is likely to warm the earth (one of many, most important being water vapor and clouds).

But – and I cannot stress this enough – we are not in a position to confidently attribute past climate change to carbon dioxide or to forecast what the climate will be in the future. That is to say, contrary to media impressions, agreement with the three basic statements tells us nothing relevant to policy discussions.

One reason for this uncertainty is that, as the report states, the climate is always changing; change is the norm. Two centuries ago, much of the Northern Hemisphere was emerging from a little ice age. A millennium ago, during the Middle Ages, the same region was in a warm period. Thirty years ago, we were concerned about global cooling.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, environmentalists want people (especially those living in capitalist countries) to believe their conduct is causing global warming and, thus, destroying our planet. Therefore, environmentalism has capitalism in its crosshairs. It is those of us who benefit from the fruits of Western Civilization that are being turned into enemies in the daily sociological and political discourse of environmentalists. Americans, including President Bush, must come to understand that environmentalism is a serious threat. If we succumb to the global warming propaganda being thrust upon us daily (with our left-wing press wittingly or not being used as the primary tool of terror/propaganda), then Green Socialism stands a chance of dismantling Western Civilization and throwing us back into the dark ages. Our rights to life, liberty, and property are at stake here.

  11. Yep already on the verge of causing them. Now I want to explain once and for all how does that happen. We take the 2 continents N. America and Europe. The eastern side of NA and western of Europe. There are warm and cold water currents in that region. The most dominating is the Great Conveyor Belt which is a warm current chain which includes NA and Europe via Africa on other side towards gulf countries and returns back. Due to freshwater melting the belt is slowing down coz freshwater cant sink and thus it does not allow the flow of current. A time will come when this belt would completely freeze. If this happens NA and Europe would suffer most ice-storms and blizzards as this belt keeps the countries from freezing in winter and when this belt is frozen how will it prevent freezing!! So there are storms to be expected and maybe an ice age too. If you have any doubts about it, feel free to contact me: kap_asl_ali@yahoo.co.in
