  1. yes

  2. Yes.

    Very Real.

  3. That temperature has risen in the past few years is a fact, but that this is related to atmospheric CO2 and the dire effects predicted by "experts" such as Al Gore is not proven. Temperatures and other climatological phenomena cycle periodically. Many climatologists doubt dire predictions such as those presented by the doomsayers. What one can do is live prudently, try to reduce CO2 emissions as much as feasible without being paranoid about it. There are many real and proven environmental reasons besides global warming to reduce fossil fuel use, and live in a greener way.

  4. Not only is it real, but it's too late to stop it.  If mankind ended the production of carbon dioxide completely right now, it would take over a thousand years for the photosynthetic cycle of plants to bring the planetary CO2 level back to normal.

All the present hoopla about reducing "carbon footprints" are no more than political gibberish.  Reducing the rate at which we accelerate our production of CO2 will not help.  Even if we somehow miraculously  turned around our demand for energy, and reduced usage globally, we would still be producing CO2 faster than the ecosystems of the planet could compensate, much faster.  The only hope is to stop, and that simply will not happen.

In order to stop, we would need to accept a catastrophic collapse of economy and distribution, to the extreme detriment of nearly every human on the planet.  Only the extermination of humans will end the problem.

So, if you are a young person asking the question, I wish you luck into the next half century.  You will be living in a sauna.

The seasons are like a pendulum.  The farther it swings in one direction, the farther it swings in the other.  Keep in mind, when it is winter in the USA, it is summer in Australia.  Where I live, we have seen successive record hot summers, and we are currently experiencing a record cold winter.  And, we are in a drought for the eighth year running.

Is it real?  Why, yes, it is!

Can we stop it?  Absolutely not!

  5. I don't know. The only thing I can say is that right now I have to go start my vehicle every 3 hours and run it for 20 minutes to make sure it doesn't get to the point where I can't start it because it's sooo cold out.

  6. Yes, sadly it is. If the things we do don't change soon Earth will be destroyed. If you don't believe me, ask a scientist. This is no lie!

  7. There is some global warming.  But we're only talking about 0.6 degree increase over the last 100 years, and NASA says at least half the increase is because of the Sun.  Natural variations account for some more, and man the least.

Will global warming continue and will it cause harm? No one knows if global warming will continue, no one can foresee the future.  And we should always do what we can to reduce pollution on this planet, but we shouldn't look towards gvmt to force people to do what others think best.

  8. No offense, but that question gets asked here about every ten seconds.  Don't you think you could just look at the answers people have already given to the same question?

  9. According to experts, yes and it is caused mostly by human activites. According to right wing politicians and media pundits who have never taken a college level science class in their lives- no.

  10. Yes it is real, it is happening now, it is mainly caused by us. Most scientists agree on this. We need to reduce our Greenhouse Gas emissions.

  11. YEH ITS REAL!   what rock have u been living under?  & its about time u came out! Temprtures are changing all over the world  places that where hot r hotter places that r cold are getting colder, the pola capps are melting polabears are dieing the sun will burn out eventualy but humans Rn't helping it all might be  a lill at a time but it is happenen!!!!

  12. global warming is real. when you hear global warming you think warming of the earth, but its not that much like how it sounds.

  13. Yes.

It's January in Southern Connecticut, and it's 50 degrees outside. 50 fricken degrees.

  14. yes it is

  15. I think for the most part, the discussion on (Global Warming) is much like our modern day court system. Both sides just try to prove their side.hundred of websites all claiming to disprove the other, or no real proof. Both sides have extreme activists. Money and politics are major players, and the right thing or the moral thing to do is not high on priorities.

Al Gore really stands out and has really hurt the Global Warming cause with his commentary and egotistical version of the earth's natural Climate changes. His movie an inconvenient truth is a really bad movie by the way.

There is a small amount of fact there, but little to no absolute truth as to what or who caused it.

The only difference is that the global warming issue has no definitive answer equivalent to jury and /or Judge.. only time holds our future or fate.

I believe we have a responsibility to conserve energy, preserve our environment and recycle everything that is feasibly possible.

I do not believe that we are causing a doom & gloom warming catastrophe. I do know that we need to prepare now by conserving energy, preserving nature and preparing for the next climate change.

Please don't form your opinon from this forum. To many close minded "hot heads" with no real proof to back their doom & gloom.

Start your own "homework assignment" and research for a  basis for your own opinion. it is best to not take a position for several weeks of study. Then you try to prove yourself wrong. I have found you get your best real evidence staying objective and open minded, regardless of your position.

Please just don't become one that uses terms like never, always, can't or references about idiots. The AGW'ers don't like being called names.

  16. The earth has gone through many warming/cooling cycles.  We are currently in a warming cycle, rebounding from an ice age 10,000 years ago, and a mini ice age that ended around 1850. We are over 4 degrees below the average of the list 250 million years.  Check out this web site          http://mysite.verizon.net/mhieb/WVFossil...

  17. Global what...? I dont know, I have never heard of it, I will post a question on yahoo answers and find out....

how about 'yes' it is real...

do you know how to use google?? give it a go and see what happens.

  18. Yea its real....

But i dont believe in that load of *BLEEP*

because we got 10 inchs of snow yesterday. and we have big winters and mild summers all the time. Sooo...Half of me says its really not that real.

  19. Just as real as the earth being flat and the center of the universe as science believed  at one time.

  20. I was just wondering that myself. it's -4 outside right now. hmmmmmmmm!

  21. The globe has warmed 1-2 degrees over the last ten or so years, however the cause for this minor rise in global temperature does not appear to be from humans. After WWII 40-70s humans burned more gas than ever before, and the GLOBAL temperature went DOWN. The world is in a vast cycle that is far to complicated for any computer to copy (can the supper computers tell you what the weather is going to be tomorrow?). While we have got a tiny bit warmer it appears to be part of a larger natural cycle.
