  1. Sleep well tonight.  The global warming is a scam created by the government to brainwash the societies.

    My 2 cents.

  2. Global warming is a huge deal.  The temperature of the Earth has rapidly warmed over the past two decades.  You can see a plot of global temperatures here http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/img/climate/res...

If we continue to put greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and others into the atmosphere at the rate we are (or perhaps an even higher rate) there will be profound changes to the Earth's climate.  There will be increased droughts in the places that are dry now, and increased rain in the wet places.  Less precipitation will fall as snow, so places like California will have to create huge water infrastructure (bigger than they already have) to deal with it.  Places that are now cropland will become desert.  Sea level may rise enough to inundate large low-lying areas, such as Florida and Louisiana.  With more carbon dioxide being absorbed in the ocean, it will become more acidic and many organisms will die because they won't be able to make shells.

Perhaps 99% of scientists agree on the basics of manmade global warming.  There is disagreement about the details, or about what can be done.  There are a lot of people that are worried that they'll be asked to change their lifestyle or pay higher taxes, so they attack global warming, but they do so with very little science on their side.

The subject is confusing, and all the evidence will never be in.  The question to ask yourself is whether it's worth it to risk the future of mankind on Earth by doing nothing.

  4. I go outside every day and everything seems the same as it has always been.  My sisters who still live in New England say that the winters are getting longer and colder.

I can't figure it out and don't know what to do.

If it gets worse and it is proven to be real then they will create industries to combat it.  Then we can train for it and get a job to help out.

When I was in high school (late 50's) they told us it would get warmer.  It never did and 25 years later they said it would be an ice age....and it never came.  Now it is back to getting warm again.  I will believe it when I see it.

Weather forecasting can never be a science.  There is no way to model it in the lab and control all the variables.  It will always be guesswork.

If the earth's atmosphere were divided up, we would all have close to a million tons each.

The solar energy reaching the earth is 15,000 times the energy used by all of us.

  5. Global Warming is a problem that many people think will happen, its more of a thing of the future because right now its fine, the thing is if anything is going to be done about it then it should start now. Once it happens you cant go back. Technically its not a proven problem, it could just be the normal world temperatures changing over time.

  6. It may or may not be real, but if the world is getting warmer it is because of increased solar activity or some very natural process. It is absolute megalomania to think that our puny efforts can do what the enviro-socialists are claiming.

If you want to worry about something, look into the possible eruption of the Yellowstone basin.

  7. A very big deal.

It won't be a Hollywood movie style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.

Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.

Lots of numerical scientific data proving it real here:

Proof that most scientists think it's real and mostly caused by us here:

  8. Even as a political conservative, I can't see why anyone would want to live in a dump.

IMHO, this is one of the few issues for which the resultant actions are the same whether a person is liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat.

We Republicans are making a killing investing in cheaper, cleaner, newer fuels while Dem's are feeling all righteous driving wind-up cars.

    ...

  9. Man-made global warming is a hoax. Don't worry about. In the 70s it was about global cooling. Go to this website for some good information.

  10. It is a big deal - our children and their children will feel the effects. If it wasn;t a big deal the ice caps would not be melting. Neither would there be a hole in our Ozone layer. You can't expect to take, take, take and not see an effect. You can't expect to put pollution in the air without consequences. Its the age old science of cause and effect.

The problem is that the earth won't be destroyed but humans will and it willl be survival of the fittest. Those that chose to ignore will make their future families suffer in the end. We are seeing the effects already. Resources are running out and we as a society are screwed.

  11. In addition to the temperature increases already seen this century, climate model projections summarized by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) indicate that average global surface temperature will likely rise a further 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) during the twenty-first century. The range of values results from the use of differing scenarios of future greenhouse gas emissions as well as models with differing climate sensitivity. Although most studies focus on the period up to 2100, warming and sea level rise are expected to continue for more than a thousand years even if greenhouse gas levels are stabilized. The delay in reaching equilibrium is a result of the large heat capacity of the oceans.

Increasing global temperature will cause sea level to rise, and is expected to increase the intensity of extreme weather events and to change the amount and pattern of precipitation. Other effects of global warming include changes in agricultural yields, trade routes, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

Remaining scientific uncertainties include the amount of warming expected in the future, and how warming and related changes will vary from region to region around the globe. Most national governments have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but there is ongoing political and public debate worldwide regarding what, if any, action should be taken to reduce or reverse future warming or to adapt to its expected consequences.

  12. YES GLOBAL WARMING REALLY IS A BIG DEAl because it can cause  death and death is bad cause you don't want to die so next time if someone asks say yes it is a big deal♥3.......have a nice day bye message me and become my friend bye!

  13. Global warming is ALL a lie .It is a way for the left to control more of our life's and take away more of our FREEDOMS>

  14. Depends where you live.  If the area you're living in is a desert, then yes a warmer climate wouldn't be good.  But when the climate gets warmer every single cold area in the world gets more habitable.

The current climate change in completely natural anyway so it doesn't matter what we think anyway, it's gonna happen.
