An economy cannot develop without outside markets, outside sources of capital, etc. so emerging economies need globalization.

On the other hand, in any trade, the one with the most power gets more of the goodies, so the emerging countries can be devastated by globalization.

Globalisation certainly creates opportunities, but with those opportunities comes risk.
