  1. www.goa-tourism.com

  2. yes...its safe & its beautiful.  its mainly hindu/christian with a few muslim indians here & they all live in harmony...all very friendly...& they love tourists.

we are going in 20 days time...for the 4th time - you'll love it there...but dont forget to take Immodium just incase!

  3. Wear a wedding ring and try to stay in a busy place.  U should be fine.  Goa is part of the hippy trail and many people travel there, so I'm sure you'll be with others.  Have a wonderful trip!

  4. calangute is a built up tourist area, there are plenty of single woman/travellers, just head for your nearest beach shack or one that you like, the lads/ boys on the shack will look out for you and stand no messing from any guys, not that there is, all quite polite, no come on's etc;etc;. just remember to buy something of each boy at the shack, cos everyone is making business, and not getting paid of shack owners, promise to do this at the end of holiday though,. make friends and have a laugh, you will love it. everyone is lovely, if you take them at face value. have the lads run for your drinks while you are sun bathing on the beds. they don't mind at all

  5. Goa is fine as its a Christian state although being a single female Id recommend the following...

    1) Cover up when not on the beach.  Indian men tend to ogle at women (whether single, in groups or with men).  So dont give them any cause to by flashing a bit of flesh.  I found that  drawing attention tends to divert their eyes and if anything, dishes out payback.  Theres nothing worse to Indians than public humilliation.

    2) Wear a wedding ring or a ring on your wedding finger.  Questions that tend to be asked.  Where you're from, what you do, how much you earn, do you have kids, are you married.

    3) Dont go to the non-touristy areas at night.... but thats the same anywhere you go in the world.

In terms of things to do....

    1)  Visit the "flea market" in Anjuna.  I think that this is on every Wednesday but check that.

    2)  If you're feeling brave, jump on the overnight train to Hospit (check out www.seat61.com for train info) which is a 20min rickshaw/taxi ride away from Hampi (google search images and you'll see the place is like bedrock).

There really isnt a great deal to do in Goa other than sit back and relax.

    Enjoy!

  6. I agree with JJ88, but do be careful, because I have heard how bad it can get for women who are single that live there and visit there, the men can be ruthless over there. But thats just what I have heard, so anyways.. Just have a great time.
