Like, is that enough money.... I know it depends on scholarships and stuff. I just mean people say they are saving up for college. Is that enough to " save up "?

And I plan on being a teacher.... if you need that info.

  1. It doesn't just depend on scholarships, it depends on where you're going.

Some schools are over 40k a year! I think 15-20k a year is the most common. And, of course, there are cheaper schools than that too. So while 45k is good pocket change it might disappear quicker than you think.

  2. its a good start. im going to be a teacher as well. good luck

  3. $45,000 is much better than $0 going into college. How much you need depends largely on the financial aid package that the school gives you. It also depends on which type of school you plan on attending and your housing option. If you decide to go to a state school in your state of residence and live at home, then $45,000 may be enough. However, if you have plans of attending a private university and living in their dorms $45,000 may not go very far.

  4. If you're going to a public university that's in-state, you'll probably be fine.
