Is going on a cruise to the Bahamas a good idea?

Has anyone here cruised the Bahamas? How did it go? Is it worth going?

I'm thinking about going, but I've heard it's not too great.

A cruise to the Bahamas would be good, but a cruise to Bermuda would be better, actually great.  Here's why.  When you cruise to the Bahamas everything is expensive, there are slums, crime and really not much to see and do other than beach activities.

When you cruise to Bermuda things are expensive but you'll be eating and drinking on ship anyway.  There are no slums in Bermuda and very little if any crime.  You can ride the buses on Bermuda to the beaches and use public transportation to go about anywhere.  You cannot do that in the Bahamas.  The beaches in Bermuda are free, no fees, and are just as pretty as the Bahamas, just have pink sand rather than white sand.

You can get 5 day cruises to Bermuda from many each coast cities for about the same as the Bahamas.

i went 2 weeks ago and it was AMAZING! I guess it wuold depend on the cruise lin. Royal Caribbean was good. the bahamas is beautiful, service on the cruise was great.

it could depend on where you live now. if live in say hawaii, it might not be a big deal but im from new jersey

I've cruised through Carnival here. Figured it would be a blast to spend the night partying on the island since the ship docked overnight. Well...lets just say I won't make a return trip there. I found the locals weren't that freindly and the port was kinda messy. It just wasn't my cup of tea at all.

There are tons of other places to check out. Grand Cayman is wonderful and so is Cozumel. Look into those ports as well. It just all depends on what you are looking for.

The bahamas is amazing. AND YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY TO GO ON BEACHES!  Sorry, but it is really nice and alot of historic places to visit. To each his own but i think its definately something everyone should do- travel to the bahamas

PS we have pink sand on the family islans too :P

yes i think it is an awesome idea. i went last year and i had such a fun time. the royal carribean cruise is good but yes i think you should definetly go

yeah it is so fun iv cruised to the bahamas twice i mean its really fun and u can do all sorts of things or u dont have to go on a cruise i mean its fun either way
