  1. IF YOU DO DECIDE TO GO ON THE CRUISE, MAKE SURE YOU GET INSURANCE JUST IN THE EVENT YOUR TRIP HAS TO BE CANCELED DUE TO HURRICANE ACTIVITY. THAT WAY, YOU CAN RE-COUP SOME OR MOST OF YOUR EXPENSES. IT IS REALLY HOT AND HUMID (miserable) THIS TIME OF YEAR FOR A CARRIBEAN CRUISE. THE BEST TIME IS DURING THE FALL AND EARLY WINTER SEASON. THERE'S LESS TOURIST AND THE WEATHER IS JUST BEAUTIFUL NOT TO MENTION MUCH MUCH CHEAPER. HAVE FUN, WHATEVER YOU DECIDE TO DO. (right now, I'd like to be in Minnesota because it's HOT & HUMID here on the east coast)

  2. It's better than going to a resort in the Caribbean.  Ships can and do avoid hurricanes.

  3. Hey have fun and don't worry.  I just got back from a 7 day western carribean cruise (Cozumel, Caymans and Jamaica). We thought we may have some problems with hurricane Bertha but it never really developed. The captain did keep us aware of the location of the storm.

  4. first what you have to do is get insurance, just in case. i doubt anything will happen but you always want to have it. i think it's safe, is the captain knows a hurricane is anywhere near he will go another direction. he won't endanger a ship full of people. and he will know if a hurricane is anywhere near because all ships are informed of storms in the area. it's not crazy to go have a little fun even if it is in hurricane season. you'll be safe, either the cruise will be canceled (and if you have insurance you'll get the money back) or the captain will go another way and maybe to another place if there is a hurricane anywhere near.
