Do they consider flying to Hawaii going overseas? What if I said I was going abroad to Hawaii even if it is part of the US technically one is going abroad as Hawaii is off the North America Continent. You feel like going to another country when going to Hawaii.

  1. No. I don't think it is considered as going overseas because it is in the U.S. But you may think you are because there is water in the middle, but you aren't.

  2. no it wouldnt....overseas would like going to a different continent (europe, asia, australia, and africa but NOT south america because you wont cross any oceans)

  3. Well yes and no.

Technically you are going over seas (ocean).

However, the term "going overseas" very often refers to going to another country and so as you aren't leaving the US no you aren't going overseas (as in leaving the country).

Hawaii is lovely to visit, but seriously get out of the US for real and say you have been truly abroad or overseas...

  4. Yes, it is considered overseas (anybody going there can see that he is crossing the sea), but not out of your country. Don't say that immigration said it so. Why this confusion?
