  1. No.

All my american friends went to Community College to save money (one of them was coming to England to study at University)

  2. no thats great!!! as long as ur going to college great start =] im also in cali and im going into a community college & plan on transferring. its cheaper and just seemed way easier for me!

  3. i dropped out of high school and attended cc when i turned 18.  i ended up transfering to ucla and graduated.  i have a lot of friends who also didn't do so well in high school, went to cc, and transferred to uc's.

    pros:

    Save money on tuition

Easy to be accepted into a 4 year college than from high school

No sat's, act, or even extra curricular activities.

Some say its easier than uc.  but i always thought it was about the same.  my cc gpa is 3.5.  my ucla gpa was 3.4

If u fail a class, taking it a 2nd time replace the fail.  if u fail entire quarter, start over at another cc

When u apply for jobs after education, interviewers don't care if u transferred or attended all 4 years at the university

    cons:

Hard to make friends.  most students just want to go to class and transfer.  some are just taking classes for work.  also, poor school sports team, no dorms, lacking clubs, etc. makes it hard to make friends

Still hard to make friends when u transfer because everyone already established their friends freshman year.  be sure u join clubs and be social.  most freshmans have a more positive experience than transfer students even though they are from the same university.

Bad reputation since any loser like a high school drop out can attend.  but who cares...its not like u're applying for any prestige jobs while u're taking cc classes.  if someone asks, say u're attending cc to save money, was accepted to lots of school but u really really wanted to attend a certain school, or wasn't ready yet to leave family who relies on u.

Hard to choose major because class experience and information is different from cc and university.  if i were u, take lots of math classes so it would be easier to change majors.  i didn't and i was only able to switch to other liberal arts majors.

  4. its not bad at all.

some people go to save money.

and if the community college is close to where you live, then thats more benefit for you.

you stay close with your younger friends and family.

when you get into the university and graduate, they wont mention anything about the community college.

so therefore its not a bad choice.

people dont want to go for the "bad name" but is pride more important when it comes to financial issue?
