It's becoming more and more expensive when, on the rare oppertunity you are even offered tickets but for the main part, the general public are not considered. Take for example the England v scotland match at murrayfield - NO tickets were put on sale to the public.

  1. elitist - not really.. I have tickets for wales in the 6 nations for £20... but when all tickets are sold via clubs then it is a bit of a closed book, which I think Twickenham did this year. Then you can only access tickets via Hospitality deals at 400-500-600 pounds.. I had tickets for the world cup at 12 Euros was the cheapest. And I lost out on final tickets when someone on the Champs Elysee offered me a ticket for 500 EUR. I immediately said no but held my hand out to look at the ticket. Someone got there faster and boughtit - face value was 495 EUROs... I never saw another one all afternoon, and then I got drunk....

  2. rugby union has always been elitsest for the upper classes the hooray henries, association football isnt long behind it. i dont like british sports, but i respect english cricket, i dont understand cricket myself as an irishman but i get the crowds.  i hate sports fans cheering on teams from outside their city.  like man u fans in  belfast or malahide, they only support them when they win, same for rugger they only support the team that wins.  i used to box for ireland, i was pretty damm good in one international against a fella from ballymena representing northern ireland, half the irish crowd from belfast were shouting to the fella from ballymena "gwan knock that fenian ****** out  U U UVF U U UVF"  i pummled that SOB to make a point.  i put him in hospital for 3 months.  my point is this, a structure is only as strong as the props that hold it up.

  3. Not at all - it's cheaper than watching an England soccer 'friendly' (ie a training run out) at Wembley.

Premiership soccer will rob you of £40/50 for a nil all draw with no atmosphere in segregated seating.

  4. It's not elitist. Virtually all tickets for Internationals are allocated to the member clubs of the relevant Union. It is only by being a member of a rugby club that you can get access to them. A limited number of tickets are sold as part of hospitality packages. So, if you want to go to an International, join a Rugby Club. I've been to many Internationals, either on hospitality, or as a normal Club member. I would never turn down a hospitality ticket, not because it was free or enjoyable, but to stop some hooray Henry who knew nothing about rugby going and to ensure a better chance of someone in my club getting a ticket who really wanted to go.

  5. I agree its for the rich now. I am a true welsh girl and I love rugby but there is no way I can afford to go and watch all the home games. Wales V Austrailia last year £120.00

    Shame on them

  6. Definately. Tickets to England matches (and I assume other international teams) are only available to the super rich on ticketmaster (never less than £200 per ticket), members of particular rugby clubs or corporate bigwigs. Mr ordinary rugby fan doesnt get a look in.

  7. Hey Goldblat (or whatever)

So you used to box. That explains the cr@p you talk, mush for a brain and before you say you would like to "pummell" me. I'm a 6ft 8in and 18 stone second row forward.

Violence, you Moron, does not settle anything, just proves my point about your brain being "mush"

  8. I totally agree...bet Princes Harry and William don't have to pay for their tickets!

  9. Possibly...but the Millenium stadium always seems to be packed out with valley commando types..and people with autism..
