  4. No.  Pure gold is indigestible, nontoxic and non-nutritive.  Some people still believe that anything so expensive must be good for you, so certain food products have gold (usually flecks of gold leaf) in them. I suppose they are entitled to their belief, but there is no chemical basis for it.
