Is goldcoins bullion (not bought on margin) a safer investment than t-bills with better results?

looking at past performance and the fact that gold's value remains constant -but currencies dont ? which has performed better over the last 20 years to fight inflation/ or return on investment ?

  1. depends...(hows that for a wishy washy answer? lol). Okay, seriously, buying gold outright is not a bad idea, but any "profit" will depend on how gold does on the market. Back in the early 80's, gold was over 800/oz, but then it tanked all the way down to around 300/oz. Anyone holding gold then lost a bundle, unless they chose to hold onto it for 25 years or so--you COULD be facing the same sort of scenario. And yes, currencies do fluctuate in value and either investment is dependent on when you buy (or what you pay fot it) and future market forces. Gold, i think, will/would be the safer bet over the long haul--currencies are quite volitale. Good luck!
