  1. It is enlightenment for few and acceptance for the many.

  2. good philosophy is about argument!

you need to be able to lay out your ideas and ideals in a coherent manner before putting to others.

  3. Acceptance.

  4. I think it is more about being enlightened first.  Acceptance comes after enlightenment.

  5. To be honest, i'm not sure if the two can be separated at all. I think most, if not all, forms of Enlightenment that we are likely to come across can be rephrased as some kind of acceptance.

The christian enlightened may come to "accept" Jesus as the saviour who cleanses us of sin. The Buddhist enlightened have to primarily "accept" suffering in the world as a central to the Four Noble Truths. The skeptic philosopher may claim enlightenment is "accepting" our ignorance of the world. The n**i enlightened "accepts" that their race are superior to others. The modern western liberal may "accept" that human life is of supreme importance etc...etc...

Whatever your definition of enlightenment, you have to at one point, "accept" some fact or event simply because that is the nature of belief.

Thank you for the question, though, i've genuinely not considered it in this way before!
