okay my situation is this. i essentially have graduated...i was supposed to this may(5th yr).. but i was short 1 credit.. so my advisor told me to write a research paper. which is not a problem but due to financial situation i wasnt able to pay the 500 something bucks which is for that one freaking credit(u believe that its 500 ? including late and student fees)..

anyway. i was gonna register for it this fall..its not even a class..its just me writing a 10 page paper . but since my gpa is kinda crappy 2.5. i was thinking about retaking some classes that i messed up in the spring semester.. so i forgo this semester.. work, save money and then register for like 2 classes in the spring which i messed up. that could help my gpa, make me graduate but also make me a 6th yr..which im kinda scared doesnt look good on my transcript

should i do it? or should i just write this paper graduate and leave with this gpa.???

the classes would be two 3 credit upper level courses....

  1. It doesn't matter how many years it takes, as long as you graduate. It does matter that your gpa is good so, work on it and good luck.

  2. As long as you finish before your class credits expire, and they do, it's all good.

  3. I would take classes that I knew I would excel it, I wouldn't risk making your GPA possibly even lower by taking a challenging class and then risking doing bad in that as well. Take courses that fit it with what you want to do when you get out of school and maybe it will help you out in the long run.

The only thing I'm wondering is why wait for the spring semester, why not take them now and get it over with?

  4. I would take the classes,

    But do make A's

If you ever wanted to get into grad school you need a better GPA and most school consider the last 60 units in their admissions criteria.

    So do it

  5. College should be taken very seriously.  It will follow you for the rest of your life.  Time is important, but a higher GPA is more of a wise choice.  If you are going to get a job in your area of study, some employers will ask for your transcript.  Most employers desire a 3.0 GPA at minimum.  I would recommend you to take the classes over, and boost up your GPA.  You will not regret it.

  6. are you planning on going to grad school afterwards? cause they will look at your GPA but jobs do not. so i would say it depends on what you want to do after school.

  7. Its probably better to have a higher G.P.A.
