  1. Uhm... no. If it wasn't for gravity, we wouldn't even be here, because no stars would form, and therefore no planets, and no life.

  2. Raymond hit the nail on the head.

  3. Nope.

But black holes destroy stars, and they have immense gravity.

  4. Depends on what you mean I guess. Gravity is making space less uniform but as Arkaliusth says, that's good for us, or was good for us.

Do you mean as the mechanism for entropy? The increasing "disorder since space/time began?

  5. by space do you mean emptiness? i don't think that space is empty. since i don't think space is empty it has something there. could that something be decaying due to gravity's impact on it? maybe, but there is probably something else in charge of creating more.  seems like it's alot about systems,order,..., like the water cycle, to me :)

  6. No, gravity is whats holding us together.  Dark enery might be though.

  7. It is difficult to imagine how gravity would or could destroy space.

It is a bit like asking why mountains are destroying geography.

Gravity is presently seen as a "topography" of space:  the presence of mass affects the shape of space, the shape of space affects how objects move.  It is this latter effect that we call gravity.  It is merely a representation of the shape of space.

So, for now (until I get a better understanding of your question) I will hazard a definite "no" as my answer.
