i have no idea where did you get such info, greek mythology is openly sold in book stores and available in some school and college libraries as well...i personally bought a couple here in jeddah (one about Oedipus and another more like a study in its philosophy)...my parents do too...maybe years ago it wasn't allowed but it's available nowadays.

in fact, a couple of years ago (13-14 yrs or so)...i looked for the 1001 nights, the original translation by sir burton, and couldn't find it anywhere until an old man who owns and runs a very small bookshop downtown jeddah told me the book is not allowed in saudi (back then) in its original form due to the explicit nature of the text...but shortly after someone told me they did find it and it was finally allowed in.
