Is guacamole considered healthy

not the storebought stuff but the kind like from an authentic mexican restaurant?

  3. Avacados are high in Omega 3s, so yes, guacamole is very good for you.  Also, the tomatoe in it has vitamin C so you get a double dose of "good for you."  And it's also delicious enough to be food for the gods...

  5. Yes.  Avocados are almost a complete food, and chilis contain vitamin C.  There's a fair bit of fat in guacamole though, and of course dairy products like cream and sour cream contain saturated fat.

  6. very healty, the avocado is a fatty fruit, but the fat in avocado is actually the good kind of fat, just dont eat too many totopos, the corn chips are usually deep fried , french fry style.

  13. Yes but only if it is made with avocado. Adding sour cream to it definitely reduces its healthiness.

    Authentic guacamole should not contain sour cream, mayo or any other dairy products, but many 'guacamole' recipes include it due to laziness or lack of sufficient avocados. I say, spend money on 10 avocados and make it authentic. With lime juice, salt, tomato and the other good stuff.  

  14. YES, basically avocados (high in mono saturated fat), garlic , onions and spices. Fattening? Yes, but also heart healthy and delicious

  15. Avocados are high in fat, but its the "good" fat, so its considered something that should be included in a healthy diet.  But unless you make it without the sour cream and other ingredients, its gets a little unhealthy.
