Is guilt simply a symptom of withdrawl?

Could guilt and other such emotions (depression, fatigue, heavy heart, etc) simply be the natural chemical effects of withdrawl of pleasurable experiences? Not the divine reprimand it is portrayed to be.

  1. Yes, it very well could be.

Ex: I am a photographer and I love it. When I am bombarded with work and school, I don't have time to take more pictures.

I find that I am more irritable, sad, and tired. Because pleasurable things release natural endorphins, it only makes sense that they would deplete or go away sometimes if you are not doing much that brings you joy.
