  1. Its one of the easiest instruments in the world to play really, really badly, and one of the most difficult to play really, really well.

Learning to switch between guitar chords quickly and easily takes time and lots and lots of repetitive practice to develop the necessary muscle memory, so that you only have to think "G chord", or whatever, and your fingers automatically know where to go.

Taking guitar lessons won't change the fact that you'll need to practice to develop muscle memory, but having a teacher to coach you on correct hand positions and chord fingerings and giving you exercises to work on, will make sure you learn correctly and avoid developing bad habits that will hold you back in your playing later.

  2. What is the most popular instrument? Does it seem like everyone else can play it? Was I great the first few times I picked up the Bass?

    Do you want to learn?

  3. Once you practice it'll be much easier for you. My brother has just started and he was horrible at first but now he's really good. It's kind of annoying, seeing I sleep in the room next door to him, but I survive. :)

Just keep remembering, 'Practice makes perfect!'

  4. Easiest instrument ever. I'm serious. No comparison.

  5. you should not do enything but practicing much! any how the problem of music is not to play music its how to think musically

  6. Hi I started learning guitar about six months ago, well, I taught myself really. I have now learnt about 10 or so chords and can switch from about half pretty easily. It doesn't actually get any easier having lessons, which I now do. You just need to keep practising and visualise your fingers going from one chord to another, that's what I do and it really works! Also a good website is http://guitar.about.com there is so much there and it is where I started learning. Good luck and practise makes perfect!

  7. I've been playing for a year, and I still can't switch chords perfectly. You just need to practice and you will get better.
