I am read that whales does'nt need light and food(if the book is right).

Unfortunately, the question doesn't make sense.  Both "a deposit of whales" and "a marine looking luck" are incomprehensible.  Whales need both light and food.  The light's required as their foodstuffs need it.  Diet varies.  Many, such as Blue whales, filter their way through vast swarms of plankton and krill.  Sperm whales, on the other hand, prefer large squid, and they dive down to impressive depths to hunt them.  Any whale that doesn't get food dies of starvation.

Either you misread something, misunderstood it or you've got a very strange book.
