Is gymnastics a rigged sport?

It seems we cant get through a single olympics without allegations of cheating in gymnastics..

That sport is a mess. They shouldnt have sports that depend 100% on subjective judging in the Olympics.

And why bother have rules if they arnt going to enforce them?

  1. because media wants controversy.  It improves ratings.

  2. better I don't think so,  but they did what they needed to do to win at the Olympics

  3. Get over it.

  4. like someone already said get over it...

China is better at gymnastics and they proved it, no matter what age they're still better. Even if we got beat by a bunch of kids well it doesnt matetr either way we got owned.

  5. It is rigged...do you EVER see an underdog win in gymnastics?

  6. Yeah, it was all planned for Alicia Sacramone to botch up 2/3 of her competitions! haha.

  7. Yes. . . it's hard not to have some sorts of biases (realized or not) where you're not competing against something impartial like a clock.  It's all about what the judges see and don't see, and we just have to deal with that.  And then we have to hope they at least can get the start values in there correctly.

The new scoring system was supposed to be an improvement since more of the subjectivity is supposed to have been removed, but you can never totally fix the system unless it's somehow analyzed from several angles by software. . . and that kind of technology is nowhere near being accurate enough by itself yet to be practical.
