Is hand protection available for plasterering?

I am considering a career as a plasterer and wish to know if they wear any special gloves or barrier cream whilst working : or do the experienced not come into cotact with water or much plaster!

  1. you may have sensetive skin,so use barrier cream each day and after you wash your hands at the end of the day use something like nivea hand cream ( you may take a bit of a slagging for this but you must take care of your hands )


  2. nah you don't need any hand protection, just wash your hands afterwards. ex plasterer with nice soft hands..

  3. at a rough guess plastering is not for you

  4. As previously stated by Aquinas. I think that your career in plastering stops here ( gloves/barrier cream ) I would love to see the reaction of the other blokes when they see you wearing that getup on a building site! Try another softer/laid-back job!

  5. Latex gloves like the skin tight ones , any lime based products are very hard on the skin , protect yourself now , rather than suffer later  

  6. use barrier cream suitable for wet (water) tasks rather than dry (oil, grease etc)
