yes, handball is played all over the world specially in europe.

handball originated in germany and was first introduced in the olimpics in 1936 and spread out all over the world

the bad thing about it is that the us don´t play handball as many other countries including mines, i´m from mexico and i used to be a coach for more than 7 years and now i referree national games and are planning to become an international refferee, and is called IHF referre.

handball it´s an olimpic sport and it´s not the bouncy ball against a wall!

it´s like soccer and basketball combined it´s played with 6 players and a goalie not supposed walk  more than 3 steps with the ball and you´re supposed to throw the ball outside a 6 meter perimeter.

There are at least three different widely-playere dforms of handball.

One form is originally Irish, where the ball is played against a wall, and was imported to America wherever Irish immigrants went, because it's a low-expense game that can be easily played against walls of buildings. Championship handball is played in a "handball alley" similar to a squash court. Squash is derived form this form.

Another form is pelote, which is popular in most spanish-speaking countries.

Then there is team handball, which is an olympic sport, and is probably the most widely played type of handball.

In answer to your question: Yes, games called "handball" are played throughout the world, but the form of handball that is common in the USA is usually only found there and in Ireland.

not really, its considered a gaelic game in ireland just the same as hurling or football, and a lot of the world champions from the last 50 years or so have being irish people who also play football { yer man from cavan} and DJ carey who played hurling from kilkenny
