Harley and cutting edge don't even belong in the same sentence. Harley just got into the twentieth century for gosh sakes, give them a break.

innovation? Why? They sell a motorcycle worth $10,000 for $25,000 why bother?

You have different expections from your bike than Harley riders have from theirs. (posers excluded)

Ducati's still use a dry clutch on their superbikes.  Some things just can't be improved upon.

Harley is what it is its always been a mode of transportation we made them into hot rods Harley didn't  its a cruiser  I miss the wind power of my Yamaha but  could ride for six to 8 hours and be done. my Harley I can go 18 to 24 hours and still feel good about the same as the shorter ride on the j*p bike. Who knows?

Not what a traditional HD rider would opt for,

And your bike is cutting edge?  The model 1908 T Ford used an inline 4.  What's so cutting edge about this?

You always talk about speed and racing.  I am not impressed with claims about what someone can do on the street.  How does your bike do on a real race track against real competition?  How well do you do on a real road course against professionals.

And Harley doesn't fill a niche? Actually HD are the best niche filers on the planet. HD is so good in fact they have the rest of the planet copying them. True Harley's are not necessarily powerful, until you climb on a V Rod.  Remember the Harley factory - customer relationship is one of the most fine tuned in the industry. Basically Willy G ( a brilliant designer) travel the world to see what his customers come up with in design and returns to the drawing board to build it economically for the rest of his customers. Along the way the world gets a free ride in design, RD, machismo, image and even history. Honda did put the world on two wheels don't ever doubt that. Remember the cutsie add in 1964m life magazine " You meet the nicest people on a Honda". That add was responsible for the huge influx of new riders over the the next 15 years. However it was Harley's image that was capitalized on all along!  Cheers.
