Is harry potter related to...?

(Please read the whole thing....) Salazar Slytherin and Voldemort? I know JK Rowling has said in the past that he isn't, however I think she didn't think everything through.

Because, Voldemort is the heir of Slytherin. And he's the grandson of Marvolo Gaunt, and Gaunt is a descendant of the Perevells, then the Perevells are descendants of Slytherin. And JK Rowling definately wrote that Harry is descended from the Peverells, which means that he is, however distantly, related to both Voldemort, and Slytherin. Am I completely off or am I right? I'd like your opinion.

I don't know, but I think maybe the Perevells came before the Founders? I might be wrong, but that's what I thought.

All purebloods are related in some way. It just wasn't a big enough relationship to be worth putting into the books - she left it off for the more avid fans to figure it out on their own.

ya, but arent i super distantly related to you too? maybe there are hundreds of generations of Gaunts and Perevells

and maybe the sorting hat saw that during harrys sorting

Yes they're distant relatives.

You see, one of Salazar's descendants married one of Cadmus Perevell's descendants. The product - Marvolo Gaunt, Voldemort's grandfather. The Potters are descendants of Ignotus Peverell, he was the one that had the invisibility cloak. Remember it's one of Harry's possessions.

But the Peverells aren't descendants of Salazar. They go way further than Salazar or any of the founders.

All purebloods are interrelated, and Harry had a pureblood father. He's probably a great-times-fifty-nephew of Slytherin's, which would make him a distant relative of Voldemort's.

Woah...you're right. Thats soo true. Omg. never thought of that. Wow. That has to be right. They have to be somehow distantly related. Thats pretty cool. I wonder if Harryy even thought of that. Myabe J.K didnt even think of that herself
