This is my first time posting on yahoo questions and I need these qustions answered for my school project on Decreasing World Hunger

How many pounds of feed does America devote to feeding cattle?

&

How many pounds of meat do we get in return?

and then using those numbers I can hopefully figure out what would happen if America stopped growing cattle.

I know this isn't worded very well so if you need anything cleared up just message me! Thanks for your help

  1. Raising cattle is not efficient in that they need many pounds of food to produce one pound of cow.  Their meat, however, is very high in protein, an important consideration when so much of the world id protein-deprived.  They also produce milk.  Even better, they will provide a family with more little cows.

There are other animals which produce more meat per pound of food, catfish for example, but they all have their own special requirements.
