Is he a Creole or a Peninsulares?

OK in american history in Mexico they had creole and peninsulares. the woman would sometimes go to Spain to make her child a peninsular. If the child was born befor the mother reach spain and she was on the boat would the baby be a creole or a peninsular?

  1. Her child would most likely not be considered a peninsular, unless they were say, right off the coast of Spain, (close to shore) when the infant was born. If the child were born on ship further out in the open seas, there would be no reason to believe the baby would be a peninsular. The Spaniards were very particular about categories like social status during that period in history. How were the 'real' peninsular Spaniards to know whether or not the woman sneaked the baby onto the ship, claimed she gave birth on board, just to gain the child a higher social status? I think largely with very few exceptions, children had to be born on the Spanish peninsula to be considered a 'true', dignified peninsulares.
