Ok are city by-law people allowed to give you ticket while you are in the car???

Heres what happened,

My driver parked on the street for a couple of mins, i am in the car and can drive,

So some By-Law person puts a ticket on my car,

I get out and i say hey excuse me, He didn't answer ,i called him 3-4 times, still no answer he gets in the car and i tap on the window, he still ignores me and drives off!!!!!!

And my window was open too,

I am so pissed off at him, can i file a complaint or something?

And also what should i do,

The ticket was for Stopping where i wasn't allowed or something,

Thanks

  1. Yes, The ticket will belong to the owner of the car. If you loan your car and someone gets a parking ticket it will be on the owner of the car, Unless a person was pulled over driving, then it would be on the driver.

If you were sitting in the car on the passanger side the ticket writer just walk away because he didnt want to argue his case for writing the ticket. If the sign says no Parking it means no Parking. (Sorry)

  2. No there is nothing you can do. He gave you a citation so you have to pay. Any passenger can get a citation. Most cops will give a citation because you p**s them off. The key is to kiss *** big time. The last thing you do is p**s off a cop because you can get a citation for almost anything.

  3. Whether you were in the car or not makes no difference. He observed your car parked in an illegal manner and ticketed you. While I admit it was rude for him to ignore you, it doesn't change the facts. So, yes, you can file a complaint if you want to, but it will be a waste of your time.

  4. If the car was stopped in a not stopping or parking zone, the ticket is valid. They don't care if you have the ability to move it or not. The crime was complete when the car was parked. I recommend that you actually read the ticket.
