  1. You can not be a police officer and have a contagious disease.  There is severe liability if you would pass this on to others especially if the city is aware of the condition.

I'm not sure, it may depend if you have it currently, or if you had it in the past and recovered from it.  One thing is that in blood tests done to see if someone has Hepatitiis B  "Hepatitis B surface antibody (Anti-HBs) -- this is found both in those who have been immunized and those who have recovered from hepatitis infection. "
