Is hero clix worth playing or is it too nerdy to bother with?

well, that depends- how much of a nerd ARE you? actually, you should be a geek, to be into this sort of thing... heroclix (as opposed to horrorclix, and other games that wixkids make) is pretty cool- if you like superheroes and want a miniatures game that's not overly-complicated... expect to spend some bucks to find the characters you want, unless you know a game/hobby store that sells them as singles- or go online, there are lots of places that do.

i have to say, though, if you're looking for a miniatures game that's not TOO involved and is kid-friendly- check out heroscape, which is available at most stores that sell mainstream games and toys. the figures are not comic book heroes (with the exception of one set which has 10 marvel heroes and villains) but figures from sci-fi, history, and fantasy... it comes with reconfigurable tiles for building a 3d game board AND you always know what you're getting when you buy a set- no random deals like heroclix.

i've played both and found heroclix fun, but heroscape MUCH better!
