Question:

Is high school baseball or legion baseball better to get a scout's attention?

i play shortstop and pitcher, i'm only thirteen so i have a while to make a decision... note that the legion team is much better than the high school team

  1. It really depends on a lot of things. What's the size of the school, the schools you play. If you're in one of the larger school divisions in the state then that might be more benficial to you. If you're school is smaller then the talent level of legion would be the better bet.


  2. Always accept invitations to go play anywhere because you never know who knows who. Maybe someone sees you play and likes what they see and has a connection with a major college scout or a professional scout and drops your name. While AAU is good, and most likely better than any high school team (assuming your school is not in the top 25 in the country according to Baseball America) I like Connie Mack or CABA (Continental Amateur Baseball Association) which were the leagues I played in giving me a great deal of exposure to professional scouts.

    If you are good enough, then you will want to be in showcases with Perfect Game or find out who the local professional scout that runs the "Scout Ball" team in your area that play every fall and winter, these are teams that are represented by Major League Baseball organizations and are heavily scouted.

  3. both because scouts go to both but more legion because they are better players than the high school teams
