Is high school track a good workout for the day or should i still run at home?

i wonder hows track like. i want to know if i take track, would that be a good workout for the day or should i still run at home a little?

  1. Yeah it's good enough, unless you are an amazing runner and need more or you want an overuse injury.


  2. one track practice is PLENTY of exercise for one day

  3. depends.  if you're a sprinter then yeah.  if you're a distance runner and you wanna be really good, i suggest you run on the weekends.  you don't hafta run after you've just had practice.  that'd be insane !

  4. If your still feeling good after track practice then go out and do it. The best runners are the ones that put in the most effort. This doesn't mean go out and do a 10 mile jog though. Just go for a light jog or something.

  5. Unless your coach's workouts are really easy, a track workout is good for the day.  If you run distance, workouts can range from 3-8 miles, sprinters usually do around 2 miles of 400 meter interval around the track.
