Book Value is assets minus liabilities & intangible assets

  1. I look more at ROE, debt/equity ratio, insider owner ship.

    Than again if you want to make money on a short squeeze the book value will not make any difference.


  2. the higher the better.. but if you're talking about price/book, then the lower the cheaper the stock price is

  3. From a solvency standpoint, a company with a higher Book Value will sell its assets for more in the open market.

  4. book value by itself if completely irrelevant.

    now, if you want to compare tangible book value to market cap, this has some merit for value investors.  indeed, high b/m stocks tend to preform better on average.
