Is hip hop seriously dying?

I honestly dont think its dying..(its actually getting more popular).. but its def changing.. I mean c'mon im not hatin on tha whole soulja boy thing or w/e.. I mean ima give him his due.. hes gettin paid and I dont mind it when they play that kind of music in the clubs.. but sometimes it just gets annoying.. but im more into fabolous, cassidy, young jeezy..let me kno what yall think

No it isn't dying.  It's evolving...  20 or 15 years ago, no hip hop album would've went platinum and sold over 1,000,000 in one week (Lil Wayne).  I'm not saying it was a great album, but it shows it's becoming more popular.  People can't be so nostalgic about old hip hop.  It was good, but it evolves, there are still really good lyrical rappers.  

Illmatic - Nas for example didn't go platinum for 10 years or something.  It sold 59,000 in the first week only!  Now albums that are worse are selling that in one day.  Underground artists match that.

Naw see it's not people just say that because they want you to believe that. Hip-hop has changed and the old skool Hip-Hop to me was better more in touch like Common the Old Bone Thug N Harmony. Hip-Hop has def changed and Ai can dig the new kind it's def diggable but Ai wouldn't mind going back to the old Hip-Hop. Now a day you can make a song about any d**n thing really snap & roll come on now. He just shows you how people's minds work Ai'm not haten on the way da make there money but Ai have to say Ai respected it more when it was talking about something. Not just doing it to a girl and getting money. Young Jezzy Ai like fabolous to me lacks a swag. Ai like Plies yet all he does is talk about s*x he def got a swag. Cassidy says he the best rapper alive but honestly he far from it he has a long way to go. To me the person who is closes to that is Lil Wayne.
