  1. Ummm...if you're starting out golfing, it would be a great brand to start from but if you have already been playing golf and would like to excel your game, I would choose a more well-known and trusted brand such as Taylormade, Nike, Titleist or Ping. Hippo is a decent brand to use

  2. Saw this posted by Mark earlier on a question about Giant clubs:Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

I would imagine it is the Giant line by Hippo. This is from golf joy website "HiPPO Golf is Europe's leading golf equipment brand with reputation for pushing the boundaries of innovation. Well-recognized for its highest quality product with unsurpassed low price, HiPPO truly excels in golf equipment industry.

  3. Ian Woosnam used to play Hippo while he was World No. 1, and he won the Masters playing them.  I bought a hippo 5 wood and the head came off on the range, so I'm not convinced they are any good.

I also believe the differences between different brands only become apparent if you are a low handicapper.

  4. yes but if your an experienced golfer and money isn't a factor then you should go with calloway, nike, taylormade ect. But they are great clubs and a good price

  5. i have a hippo xd3 driver and a taylor made tour burner i hit them both 280+ and straight i think the hippo is less of a shock when you strike the ball so i dont think you need to spend a million dollars on a driver when hippo has a good driver for cheap

  6. I have a 60degree hippo wedge and I love it, I get good spin with it and the weighting and feel is amazing.  I am not a big person to be conserned with brand, I have a cer hybrid custom fit for me from golf galazy and I can shape and hit that as well as I would if it was a taylormade for 4 times more money.

Other than drivers and putters your irons and feel clubs there are very little differences between a brand like maltby, cer, or hippo vs Nike, Taylormade or Callaway.  It is all in your swing, your shot and what you feel comforable with.

The grooves on most all clubs are about the same and you will get similar reaction, the pro's play the namebrand clubs but they are all custom fit for them, not you.  The best set of clubs you will ever own will be ones fit for you by a professional no matter if it is CER or Hippo or Taylormade.

  7. No.  But a slightly used name brand it will probably cost you just as much.

  8. Well, "good" is a completely relative and subjective term.  Do you play them well? Then they are good for you.  Hippo is an "off-brand" club, not quite the same level with TaylorMade or Callaway, but they have been around for a while and have a decent following.  I think they are suited for high-hindicappers who want to hit it higher and straighter, but the clubs sacrifice workability.
