I have no idea who you are referring to Mr Ed. It is a genuine question concerning my own safety as I have sold my car to reduce my carbon emmisions. Not that any of this should concern a talking horse anyway.

  1. just as safe as it is to hitch-hike anywhere in the world, I guess.

    No.

  2. if your a guy then it might be okay..

i am talking from experience when i say this ..i dont reccomend it . .especially not for girls.

i hear people over in australia are friendly and nice, but just be careful. hitchiking would not really be safe anywhere becuz you dont know the people.

  3. Well Mr Milat, I believe it's technically illegal.  It can be a way to get around though as long as you look like a genuine backpacker and not a serial killer.  I wouldn't reeeeally recommend it though......

  4. No way. I mean, it would be a bit of an adventure, but a potentially fatal one. Not that i would know from experience. But not all Aussies are good people. Some are psychos.

  5. Hitch Hiking is not a safe way to travel anywhere.

  6. Um have you forgotten about Milat's accomplice? You know the one the police know about but just don't quite have the right evidence yet. I would have thought an Ivan nut would have known that.

  7. A few years ago, a serial killer by the name of Ivan Milat (any relation??) did away with several hitchhikers in Australia. Since then, even though he's behind bars there have been other instances of disappearing hitchhikers, so it's still not safe. Why do you ask Mr Milat?

  8. Don't do it, although it sounds adventureous and reduces cost, my question to you - what affects will this have on your family if anything happened to your whilst hitch hiking????

Look at what Milat did; John & Alois McDonald (picked up a hitch hiker took back to their place, had a religious disagreement and was axed); Aryan Hendrickson (who has kidnapped, held hostage, bashed).

Suggestion - get on the harvest trail to travel around Australia, you might be able to organise travel with other backpackers.

Don't do it - but at the end of the day - one makes their own decision and will wear the consequences.  Why put yourself in a situation which can be very risky.

  9. have you seen wolf creek?

  10. Hitch Hiking is never safe.  Think about it, if its not safe in America with all our regulations and laws, it is definitely not safe in other countries.  I would think twice about this.  Not to mention the climate is hot or cold over there, this is also something to consider

  11. No, Hitch hiking is dangerous where ever you go--Australia is probably one of the safest places though. Hahaha Ivan Milat..

  12. No it is not safe any where, once upon a time long ago when i was young it was,

but i would not pick up any hitch hiker these days its not safe

and i live in Western Australia

  13. hithchiking is not safe anywhere have you seen the people in this world lately
