  1. Yes. You can hit it with the back of your palm.  It might not be as effective but it is legal.

  2. no it shure isn't . sry. i did dat once in practice and the coach said dat i could not do it 4 the game.

  3. There is no "back" of your palms.  but you can hit it with the back of your hand.

  4. i think its allowed but i dont know how well it works

  5. the volleyball is still playable if it hits any part of your body... if it hits the back of your palm it might be called as a LIFT.. unless your sliding OR it might be better if you use a fist if you decide to hit the ball with the back of your hand. It depends on how you do it.

  6. Yeah, actually I think you can hit with anything on the upper body as long as you dont lift it...

  7. It depends. If you are sliding and put out your hand (palm facing down.) and the ball hits the back of your palm, that is definitely allowed, that is called a pancake. If in air or in motion while hitting with back of palm though, thats a little risky becuase it defends on the ref and depends on if you are "lifting" it or just deflecting it.

  8. yes but you can not catch the ball first or it will be a carry.

  9. isnt that how ur supposed to hit it??

  10. It is legal to do almost anything in volleyball (even kicking!). You cannot bring your hands in a direct upward motion or you will be called for a lift. You may hit it with the back of your palms in another way.

  11. Yes, you can.

One example is so called "pan cake" when you dive and slide your palm on the floor, in order to squeeze it between the ball and the floor within the last portion of a second. You might have to worry about the burn in your palm later, but the save from the "back of your palm" will earn you a lot more respect from your teammates.

  12. It is legal in all sets of rules.  It is illegal if it is in contact with your hands too long or if it hits several times while you are trying to hit it once and it is not the first team contact.

And as stated above, you can even hit the ball with your feet in US college and club.

  13. im pretty sure you can do it but i dont recommend it.

  14. yes, yes, yes.  If it wasnt, there would be a lot of teams in trouble.  Most commonly, you use the back of your *hand* for a pancake.  something our team did a whole lot of this year.  There are also some instances when you are in the front row and your back is facing the net and you still need to hit the ball.  if you try to use your "palms" you will more likely than not [when you have good refs] you will be called for a carry, lift, or push, in this case, the smartest choice is to use the back of your hand.

    it is definately legal.

  15. u can hit the ball with any part of your body as long as you dont push the ball
