  1. It's a bunch of work for your parents.  They have to do everything from teaching you to filling out paper work.  It's a real hassle if your parents don't have the time.

Just stay in school.  I home schooled my daughter for driver's ed and it was a big issue.

  2. No! You miss out on social opportunities to learn proper social skills and chances are the curriculum will not meet educational criteria as easily as attending school outside the home. It could be hard to get into college too.

  3. I think homeschooling is a lot better too. I'm being homeschooled right now & like it a lot. Depending on where you live, you could try this virtual school called IQ Academy. here's the website: www.iqacademy.com ; also if u go to IQ Academy you can go at your own pace to learn, & you can make friends on that too.

    Hope it works out.

  4. no cuz u dont get to see your friends, but you tutor or teacher can focus on you, and you're not slowed down by other kids who do not understand and so the teacher wont have to explain it 7 times are you'er like "gosh i get it!! move on!!" and the other kids are like "what? i dont get it.." so idk..

  5. Home schooling is an option for many families who don't want their child(ren) exposed to what they consider negative influences on a public school campus. Home schoolers have a structured curriculum and the family MUST submit paper work to authenticate the schooling.

Home schoolers often learn MORE than students in a WORKING CLASS public school.

If your parent(s) are serious about your education, you won't have much time to waste! There could possibly be some who won't learn anything from home schooling but it is only as good as the home educational structure.

Is it better? I think it depends on the individual situation.

  6. personally i think that going 2 school is better then home school just bcuz home schooling alienates u from people and lowers ur social abilities. so i would think that sticking with regular school is better then home schooling

  7. I have cousins that wear home schooled & they seem to be very unsocialable(??) But my cousins thats the same age group went to public school are very smart, street savy & sociable. Now my other cousins went to private school and they are very sociable and determined to do a lot of things in life.

    Just my opinion

  8. It all depends on who's teaching you.  Some home-schooled children rise above, while others fall below.  If the reason that you want to be home schooled  is because of trouble in public school, such as bad grades, or problems with other kids.....then the answer is probably no.

I have a girl cousin who left public school after elementary because of social problems with other girls.  She was a very intelligent girl, and was ambitious with her studies, so she did ok and went on to college.  But her social skills are very underdeveloped.

Also, I think sometimes children schooled at home end up with a harder time with authority.  Again, it depends on the teacher and how the home schooling is conducted, but some kids are less structured at home and don't have to conform and follow as many rules, and don't have to listen to adults other than their parents.

I have heard employers say that they are hesitant to hire home-schooled people because they have had problems with them - mostly following directions, staying productive, and being punctual.

I myself, had a very hard time in highschool - and would have jumped at the chance of being home-schooled........but I am very glad that I was never given the opportunity.

    So, no to your question.

  9. Only if you want to blow circles around high school seniors when you're half their age. What those people are telling you is false, in other words.

  10. when your home schooled you become lazy like this one kid that did home school he got home and did it for a week and stoped. didn't learn anything either!

  11. i with u ther i hate public school!!!!!!

but if ur mom or dad has great teachign skils them i think u can

  12. Honey, it just depends on how diligent YOU are in your studies. Do you want to learn? Do you have the self-discipline to make yourself do the work without someone always on your case? By the time you hit 7th grade, you should be self-teaching, much like they do in college.

I have homeschooled my children for 13 years. I have been hard on them so that when they went to high school (I have two daughters in high school now) they thought it was too easy, but stayed because they can get dual-credit courses there.

Now they self-teach in high school, too. They respectfully listen to what the teachers have to say, then come home and study their books. They make excellent grades and are fine socially. They have made friends, in fact, my oldest girl went to college this past summer and made friends with people two and three years older than her that have graduated high school and are in their sophomore year of college! They still email!

If you can make yourself stay on track, you'll do just fine. A good curriculum for you might be Alpha-Omega Lifepacs. You can find them at www.Christianbooks.com .  And you'll need to check with   www.hslda.com to find out about the laws for homeschooling in your state. Every state is different.

If you have anymore questions you'd like to ask me, you are welcome to contact me. I'll help you in any way I can.

    Blessings.

  13. Im home schooled and  did you hear that california home school students may need a teacher with a degree to home school? This is just like what Hitler did to the mexicans in 1978.

  14. no you don't really learn and you social skills tend to blow

  15. Definitely go to a public school. If your home schooled you're kinda stuck in your house. You have more qualified teachers at a school and you'll actually have friends and a social life vs at home your parents are teaching you old school English like "Golly Gee! That was amazing!" If you're home schooled like the only people you will know is the kid down the street, vs at school you widen who you're associated with and life is just better lol.

  16. Honestly...it depends on you. Home-ed is great if you are motivated, disciplined, persistent and know your own mind. It isn't for every family though.

There are numerous advantages to being home-educated but the thing to remember is that it can be the best or the worst experience of your life depending on the attitude you bring to it; far more than school ever was, homeschooling is what *YOU* choose to make of it, for good or bad. Unlike conventional school, it's wholly dependent on you to make it work. If you reckon you can do that, then go for it.

Go into it expecting it to make you miserable and unhappy and that's almost certainly what will happen. Go into it excitedly looking forward to the adventure and it can be the most amazing, liberating experience of your life so far.

  17. There isn't any right or wrong answer to this.  There are people who are going to tell you that school is the only way to go and homeschool parents who imply it is always superior to school and that all kids should be homeschooled.  Truth is, I think there are good and bad schools, as well as homeschooled students who do well and those who fail because they really aren't taught. The same is true for children who attend school.  Some do well, and some do not.  If you and your parents are academically motivated, you will probably succeed as a homeschooled student.  If you aren't, you may not.

  18. Home school offers a far superior education and much more opportunity for socialization.  Public school offers forced artificial socialization.  In real life do we only socialize with 25 other people our own age in our same zip code?  If someone does they are the ones who are socially inept.  Home school children have a much better chance of getting into the college of their choice as colleges actively seek out home schooled children.  They score higher on tests because they are actually taught how to think instead of just memorizing standard answers.  With home school you are able to work at your own pace.  If you need more time to catch on to something you can take all the time you need, if you catch on more quickly you move on.
