Is homeopathic medicine safe to take while on a prescription medication for hypothyroidism? The homeopathic?

medicine is sinus and allergy spray (nasal) and homeopathic sinus tablets and homeopathic ear drops all made by hylands.

Yes, generally homeopathic products are perfectly safe with other things... but there are drugs that have interactions with a lot of various products.

Your best (and safest) bet would be to ask a pharmacist if there are any interactions listed between the drugs and supplements you're taking. Doctors and pharmacists both have access to a database of drug and supplement interactions and they can tell you quickly if you can safely take them together or not.... anyone here will just have a best guess from searching on the internet (which isn't always accurate, as we all know) ;-) Good luck!

I don't think you will have any problems. Most homeopaths are pretty safe with almost anything. But if your worried you could try it and see how it makes you feel, and stop taking it if you feel funny. Or you could ask your doctor. Good luck!

Homeopathic "remedies" (they are NOT "medicine") have no active ingredients.  They are simply placebos and therefore safe to take with anything in any combination.

its probably unlikely that the nasal spray or ear drops would have a major effect, but the tablets might pending on what is in them. many alternative cold remedies contain zinc in which case it should be spaced out several hours with the thyroid medication because zinc and other cation metals bind to levothyroxine and make it less effective. Opus for the most part is right if its a traditional homeopathic product, but many homeopathic products at drug stores and such might be liberal in their labeling and have enough stuff in them to cause problems. bring the package in and ask the pharmacist pharmacist.
