one younger sister, 7. She seems to be social at her current middle school and has plenty of friends, or so i thought. Do you think enrolling her on an online school is a good idea?? If so, what about her other sibling- leave them in public school or have them all homeschooled?

Can anyone PLEASE recommend some online schools for 7th graders... thanks

  1. I homeschool my children and it works well for us.  It sounds like your daughter is thriving in school though, what are your reasons for wanting to homeschool her?  Depending on your reasons and your committment to making it work, it could be a great thing for your daughter and your other children.  At that age though, I would have a good reason for moving them if it was against their wishes.  That could make things very difficult for you.

Here is some general information on homeschooling:

Here are some computer based providers:

    Good luck!

  2. My 18 year old is finishing up her HS online (we are in Arizona and it is free through the state)... I have done both the standard homeschooling and the online. For my daughter, this is working out VERY well... Talk to her guidance counselor and see if a similar program is offered in your state. They will TRY to convince you homeschooling is a recipe for disaster, but you know your daughters strengths and weaknesses better than ANY one, so talk it over, then decide... As for the other sibs, do they WANT to do the online thing? If not, leave them in the schools they are in unless there are other "issues"... Best of luck!

  3. ask her

  5. Pahomeschoolers would have references and support groups for you.

I homeschool my 14 and 11 year olds no problem.

What is your reason for homeschool?  Is it freedom and flexibility, or more to get away from a bad environment?  These issues will help you to decide what to do.

My kids wanted to be homeschooled, and I didn't really want to do it, but I decided to go ahead and I am glad I did even though it is more work for me.

You should contact local homeschool parents in your area.

Again, the PA homeschoolers, and google your county name with "homeschool" and you will find co-ops and support groups.  Email their contact ppl, and ask them, I am sure they will have the resources you need.
