  1. Without homework there is NO learning. The more the mearier I say...coming of course from a teacher.

  2. Welcome to the real world Darline wait until you are all grown up and you have a job and a family to support then you will look back on this and laugh when your child is whining about their homework. It is only going to get worse but you will make it through and think of childhood as not your required time to play and be merry but as a preparation for the rest of your life if you work hard now it will pay off when you are an adult and look at it this way you have 18 years of childhood and 40 + of adulthood when would rather be happiest work harder for 18 so you can play more for 40+ one heck of a trade I think. Good luck!!!!!!

  3. Wrong.  Homework does not last 24/7.

  4. Kids do seem to have a lot of homework these days.  And at a much younger age.  Personally (and I'm a college educated adult) I think much HW is just busy work with no learning or educational value.  It does offer a course in responsibility and time management though and I would never advocate *not* doing your HW just because you don't have time for it because you are talking on the phone with BF.

If you are having problems getting everything done then you need to either manage your time better and possibility cut out some of the activities or talk with your coach and teachers about better coordinating your responsibilities.

  5. If you do your homework, and study hard at first then it will get easier and take less time.  You have to put up the work up front to get the rewards later.  Learning is a progressive thing and if you get behind it just gets harder and takes longer.

  6. Nothing is good if you do it all the time. a healty combination of work and play is the way forward, try to use constructive activities as sport or watching educational programs on tv and make fun time useful and rewarding.

  7. No, but homework is very important. It allows children to revisit what they learned at school and make sure they understand.
